This beautiful fall wedding brought me to Lake Tahoe. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was familiar with the area. Every three years or so, my family had our large, extended family reunions here. Every time, I looked forward to the various outdoor activities from swimming, kayaking, biking, and family baseball games. However, I had never experienced the beauty of Lake Tahoe in the fall. Thus, I was slightly unprepared for the gorgeous turning leaves. While an outdoor wedding in Tahoe in October could have been a gamble, Courtney and Tom’s ceremony was sunny, warm, and perfect.
Before the wedding, I asked Courtney to describe their relationship in her own words. Here is their story.
How did you meet?
24 years ago at Jacks Valley Elementary. We have basically known of each other and known each other our whole lives. We were friends for a decade before we fell in love but have known each other since we were kids chasing each other on the playground.
What are your favorite things to do together?
Road trips, Classic video games, family outings with our son and dog, going to theme parks as a family.
How would you describe your wedding style?
Elegant Fairytale; Princess marries a Pirate. The theme of the wedding is officially Once Upon A Time/The Enchanted Forest. I have titled the event as A Once Upon A Time Affair.
Congratulations, Tom & Courtney!
